Del Mar Fair 2016

This summer I'm happy to announce we made it to the Del Mar Fair for the first time ever!  Most people were shocked to hear we have never been.  Sadly I have had a bad taste in my mouth about the Fair because I have to sit in Fair traffic for the whole month of June.  I see all the cars and crowds that it has totally turned me off to going.  This year I was somewhat forced to go for two reasons 1) My boss gave me a Fair Ticket Package for Staff Appreciation Day and 2) Skylar's dance number was chosen to perform at the Fair.  I took the day off work and we headed down to the Fair with Jess and Sophie.

Not long after we arrived Kelly, Braydon, and Siena joined in on all the fun.  We hit as many rides and games before Skylar and Siena's performances.

Skylar did great during her performance and it was sad to see Grand Ole Flag come to an end.

Jake and Madden came down right after Madden got out of school.  Madden was the perfect height to ride most of the rides.

Monster Truck was a HIT!

Ferris Wheel

Jake and Madden racing down the slide.  He loved it.  I really wish Skylar wasn't so scared and would of rode it as well.

A Fair must....the Bumper Cars!

The kids did ride after rides.  Between the five kids we must of went through 300 tickets.  They had popcorn, snow cones and endless fun.  I'm totally hooked on the Fair and can't wait until next year!!

Brick or Treat

The Halloween festivities countine to roll on for the Ernest Family.  Last week we did our annual trip to Brick or Treat at Leogland.  Superheros are what the kids are all about lately, so picking out their Brick or Treat costume was an easy choice.

We met up with Sophie and Reese.  Reese is the girls new friend from their soccer team. It was Madden's first trip to Brick or Treat and he didn't seem to mind being the only boy of the group.

We ran into Bray and Sienna once we got into the park.  We were able to ride the carousal with them and watch a Halloween show.

The girls got to do-si-do with the Legoland friends while a folk band jammed on.

Spider Girl and Pocahontas!

We later hit up the Wanda's dance party at the Sea Life aquarium.  The kids had such a good time there.  The beach balls were the highlight of the party.  Kids were running around like crazy chasing them down.  Madden would block kids up against a wall and then smack the ball out of their hands.  Whenever he got the ball he would run it over and give it to his sister.  He said they were all working as a team to get them.

They finally put the balls away for a bit and got the kids to dance. Madden for sure had his dancing shoes on that evening and danced the night away.

A Disney Daze!!

We have been on a Disney crash course the last couple weeks.  We have gone twice in less than two weeks.  A little birdie told me that the best time to go is the end of January/early February and with this recent measles outbreak the place is almost a ghost town.

My Mom joined us for one of the visits.  The kids rocked it and we did our first all day Disney trip without a nap for Madden.  We figured by 2:00 PM Madden would be done but he showed no signs and we were walking on most rides, so we powered though all the way to 6:00 PM.  We did a ton of new rides and shows and the four of us had the best day together.

Riding Finding Nemo for the first time.

The Mark Twain Steamboat.

Madden and Nana riding the flying Dumbo ride.  Nana has a small fear of heights and Madden wanted to ride his elephant at the highest peak possible.

Madden wanted to ride ever ride with Nana this trip.  Here is the two of them riding on one of Madden's favorite ride...Buzz Lightyear!

Our next visit to the park was to celebrate Sophie's 5th Birthday.  The girls started the morning at the Anna and Elsa Boutique getting their Frozen make overs.  The girls got to pick out their hair styles, eye shadow color, nail polish, and lip gloss.

Meeting their idols, Anna and Elsa.

Cars ride #selfie.  Skylar was all smiles at the beginning but was pretty upset with me at the end because I didn't tell her that the ride was going to go fast.  She said she won't go on it until she is 16.  Huge bummer because it is an awesome ride.

We also made it into Olaf's snow party.

Frozen Sing-Along Show.

These kids are pretty blessed, I think they have been to Disneyland more times in their short lives than I ever went it my 33 years.  Lucky for them, Mom just renewed her pass which means more trips to come.

Legoland 1 Mile Run

Marathon season in San Diego has started up again.  Skylar and I kicked it off by participating in Leogland's 1 Mile Run.

We hung out with Zachary and Cami before race time.  It was a pretty chilly morning so we had the kids bundled up.

Walking up to the starting line.

Skylar did great and ran as much as she could this year.  I think she was a little tired and didn't eat enough for breakfast so she wanted to walk some of it, but she still did an amazing job and I couldn't of been prouder of her.

My future 1/2 marathon runner!

After the race I took her to our local donut shop for her post race celebration meal!

Next year will be super exciting because we decided its time for Madden and Dad to join us.

Brick or Treat

Our Halloween festivities roll on with us going to Legoland for Brick or Treat with Sophie and Kael.  Skylar wanted to dress up as Cinderalla, who is her favorite princess this week.  We went to Brick or Treat last year which was very overwhelming and extremely crowded.  I remember we lost Skylar for like 30 seconds and I felt like I would never find her again because it was so crowded.  So I was pretty nervous about going again this year.  Jake and I decided he and Madden we stay home and do a Dad Date and I would just take Skylar for some one on one time.

Cinderalla, Zarina the Pirate Fairy, and Transformer Bumblebee.  We all checked into Brick or Treat and than had dinner at the Legoland Hotel before going back into the park.

We spent most of our time at the aquarium.  It was hosting Wanda's Dance Party. The place was practically emptied and the girls danced with Wanda and Jellyfish umbrellas.

Yes, that little weird jellyfish hand puppet is Wanda.

The girls participated in the choreographed dance put on by Wanda's handlers.

After getting their groove on, the kids wanted to go into the park for a ride and some more trick or treating.

Legoland did a great job decorating for the event and the kids loved looking at all the lights and spooky decorations.  The place ended up being pretty empty, which was great.  The kids left happy with candy and a lego set.  Brick or Treat was a total success!
