Bressi Annual Easter Event 2017

We kicked off Spring with the Annual Bressi Easter Event.  It had all the usually fun activities for the kids.  Egg hunt, obstacle course, petting zoo, and of course, the star of the event..the Easter Bunny!

To know surprise, Madden kept his distance from the Easter Bunny.

Skylar and Madden spend the whole two hours running and getting timed on the obstacle course.

Egg Hunt time!

Bressi Holiday Party 2016

The holiday season is in full swing.  I just love this time of year.  I have had my house decorated since Mid-November and last week I started wrapping gifts (this is what happens when I have no job).  We kicked off the month of December with our community's annual holiday party.  This one was definitely our best one to date.  I was really proud of Jenn and I for making it so special for the community.  We had everything from the best Santa to Carolers to sledding to Buddy the Elf.

Skylar giving Santa her christmas list.  Top of the list...a Hatchimal.

Skylar and Santa.  Madden once again refused to get near him.  Ms. Claus even freaked him out a bit.  He said when he turns 5 is when he will take a picture with Santa.  We will have to see about that.

Dance games with the DJ.

Sledding!

Skylar with her two best friends.  Sophie and Lucy.

Jenn and I with Buddy the Elf.  He was the life of the party.

Madden favorite party of the party was throwing snowballs at Cian (Lucy's older brother).  If I ever couldn't find him I knew I just needed to look for Cian because Madden was chasing after him.

Santa, Ms. Claus, Buddy and Mr. Mint.  They really helped the whole community ring in the holiday season.

4th of July 2016

This year for the 4th we kept it all in the hood!!  We started our morning with the annual Bressi Ranch 4th of July parade.  It was a nice, overcast morning so the weather couldn't of been better for the parade.

After the parade we headed to the pool for some swimming and lunch.  It was busy with most of the neighborhood enjoying the sun that had just popped out.  Madden sadly got stung by a bee for the first time, so we definitely were the center of attention with the screaming child, but he did great with his first sting.  Didn't even want ice or anything, just wanted to be in moms arms and eating Red, White, and Blue gummy bears.

After the pool and a couple naps we headed over to the Kurisu's for some BBQ.  Mike just got a smoker so he smoked us some ribs, steak and chicken.  The kids had a water balloon fight, did the slip and slide, and played all afternoon and into the evening.

Jake's enormous jell-o shots.

Water balloon fight.  No one was safe!

Once the sun went down we headed to the top of the hill to watch the firework shows from Legoland, Avaira, and La Costa.  Lisa, our neighbor gave the kids boxes of the little poppers which they loved throwing on the ground and seeing them spark.  Neighbors had there own firecrackers going off as well so the night was definitely lite up.  It was a great 4th of July with awesome friends!

Bressi Ranch Easter Event 2016

Last weekend Jenn and I (the two last standing on the social committee) put on our first event as a duo.  This was the first time in almost a decade that the social committee hosted an actual egg hunt so we wanted to make sure everything was perfect.  Along with the Egg Hunt we added a petting zoo, obstacle course, DJ, and of course the most important the Easter Bunny.

To make the weekend and event even better Lennon came down to join us on the fun.  Erin and Matthew were away in Napa for the weekend so my parents were on babysitting duty so I told them to come down.  Lennon’s Egg Hunt was the first one up.  I took him out there and he didn’t seem to interested in putting the items in his basket, he wanted to carry most of them by hand.  He got over the egg hunt pretty quickly and wanted to spend most of his time in the petting zoo.  The petting zoo was a massive hit and the crowd was crazy in it and Lennon wanted to be right in the middle of it.  He didn’t care too much about the animals he just wanted to be in the middle of the crowd.

The obstacle cross was the highlight for Skylar and Madden.  I swear they ran through it the entire 2 hour event, expect for their egg hunts.  They both conquered the warped wall a half full of times and Skylar even in her long dress won the time trials for her age group.

A full baskets of sweets.

No success getting a picture of Madden with the Easter bunny, his fear of characters’ lives on.  Lennon did pretty good, no screaming or tears, but definitely wanted off the bunny’s lap.  Skylar and Sophie were perfect.

The event was a huge success and the community was super grateful for all the work we put into it.  Can't think of a better way to start off the Easter holiday.

Bressi Ranch Holiday Party 2015

Now who says it never snows in Southern California?!?!  This past weekend was the Bressi Ranch Holiday party which was filled with snow.  It was our last event of the year and the social committee really wanted to go all out.  We even cancelled our Fall event to expand our budget for Christmas, which turned out to be the right move.

Santa, who has been coming to Bressi for over five years, brought so much cheer for all the kids, minus one....Madden.  He refused to get near him, and with him being older and stronger I didn't want him to give Santa a right hook, so we just let it be.  Skylar on the other hand was so excited to see him.  She is so lost on what she wants for Christmas this year (as am I on what to get her), that she just told Santa she trusts him to bring her whatever he wants.

Santa who?

Sophie and Skylar silliness.

Photo Booth antics for all the kids.

Annual Hula Hoop contest.  Skylar didn't take top prize but her hula skills have gotten so much better.

The best part of the night was the snow sledding.  The line for it was never short and kids were having a blast.

This was our first big neighborhood event since Skylar started Kindergarten.  So the amount of kids she knows in the neighborhood now has expanded 10 fold.  She was thrilled to be partying with Lucy, Parker and Liam who are all from her classroom!

To top the event off we had snow falling from the sky which really completed the event.

It was a job well done by us social committee ladies.  Excited to see what we can bring to the community in 2016.
