Spring Break

This year we were fortunate enough to spend the week out in Palm Springs with family.  My Dad has been working out in the desert for what seems like months now that during Spring Break he rented a house for us all to stay at.  It really turned out to be a great time since the kids got to spend 5 straight days with Lennon and Morrison.  We couldn't of asked for better weather with it being in the high 80s/low 90s all week.  The whole week was pretty much spent in the pool from morning until night.  Skylar and Lennon were the big fishes of the week because they would be in that pool until 4:00/5:00 in the afternoon.  Madden usually tuckered out a little after lunch and would need some down time.

The 8 floaties that Dad purchased were a huge hit.  The kids played on them for hours.

Each and every morning consistent of Fruit Loop cereal and watching Monster Jam (Lennons favorite thing at the amount).

The house we rented was right on the golf course so at night the kids loved going out there and hitting a few balls.

One evening we roasted s'mores.  Skylar took the cake and I believe ate 4-5 this night.

One morning we took the kids to the Living Desert.  We had all been a couple times before, but it was Lennon's first time and we knew he would love it.

The three of them loved reading the map and leading us all around the park.  We really lucked out because we saw a ton more animals than usually.

Dippin Dots before lunch when Papa is around.

We went downtown one evening for ice cream.

Whenever we go place with Erin and Matthew I always know I'm going to awesome pictures of the kids and that is what we got.  Using the house as a background Matthew and Erin set up a little mini-photo shoot and here were some of my favorite shots.

We had the best time!  It was definitely hard to leave the family and the warm desert weather, but hopefully we can squeeze in another family desert trip this upcoming summer.

Easter 2018

This years Easter holiday was a bit of a bittersweet one for our family.  After almost 10 years of celebrating Easter at my Aunt Elsa's house, we celebrated out last one there.  She and Uncle Jon recently sold their beautiful home so we wanted to make sure to cherish our last family holiday at their home.

We had a lovely meal (BBQ by Jake), and great conversation with the whole family.  The kids were are attached at the hip.  I rarely saw Skylar and Madden unless they were asking "When is the egg hunt?"  I put the older cousins to work and had them hid all the eggs for the kids.

Getting ready to make a dash out for the eggs.

Wouldn't be an Easter without confetti eggs.

Skylar definitely made out, but I think Madden was the one who found the eggs with the most money in them.

Confetti eggs on Uncle Ron.

On Easter Sunday we were glad to be back with the Finkel Family for Easter brunch.  Janet of course went above and beyond for the kids.  She put together a really fun scavenger.  Skylar read each clue to MacKenzie and Madden and then they would brainstorm together to solve it.

They ended up with a basket full of toys and treats!

Just another fabulous Easter holiday with friends and family.

March 2018

Had a fabulous brunch with all my master swim friends.

Birthday dinner for me.

Unfortunately the kids didn't catch the Leprechaun this year, but they had a blast making the trap.

We had a fantastic visit with Grandma and Grandpa.  They got to watch Madden play football, did lots of crafts, took a nice hike and watched lots of March Madness games.

Paul and Jake even went to some of the regional games at SDSU.

We attended the Bressi Easter Event.  Kids raced for eggs and ran the obstacle course the whole time.

Skylar's Academic Award

We couldn't be more proud of Skylar for receiving the Academic Award for the month of February.  She works hard everyday at school and at home and it's really paying off.

Dance Viewing Week

There is nothing better than being able to get a little sneak peek into the kids at their dance classes.

Skylar was a big goof ball in Jazz class and she seems to have a lot of fun doing it.

Tap, which he says is her favorite was really fun to watch.  She did very well and I can see areas where she improved and areas where she could use a little improvement.  I love watching her in her dance element.

Be still my heart! Watching my sweet Bubba's doing hip-hop is everything I had dreamed of.  He was place front row for the recital routine, which probably means nothing, but for me it means everything..haha!  He has a big smile on his face during the whole class and really seems to like it.  I can only hope he will want to continue doing it.

Skylar is very shy in ballet for some reason.  She never wants to answer a question that the teacher asks and rarely speaks to any of the girls in her class.  Ms. Alex even asked "Does Skylar even like ballet?"  Which I sometimes wonder myself but she tells me she does and wants to continue doing it.  Which I'm proud of her because she is definitely improving in it.
