November 2018

Day Date with the girls to see Wicked.  It was an amazing show!

Slumber Party for Aubrey's 9th Birthday.

Soccer Trophy time.

Skylar had a field trip to City Hall.  The class room put on a skit of a city hall meeting.  Skylar play Council Member #3.  Proud of her for wanting to have a bigger role in the skit...gets it from her Dad!

Madden's class put on a performance for Stone Soup.  Madden play villager #2.

Quick trip down to the water for Jake and Skylar.

Sleepover at Madelines house.

Next night was with Sophie.

Thanksgiving with my two favorite turkeys.

Dinner for Jenn's Birthday.

Skylar did BELT (Bike. Every. Last. Tuesday) with Mr. Maxon's class.  She did great until Lucy crashed into her and she fell down and cried.  We are really proud of her though because even though she fell she got back up and rode all the rest of the way to school and said she wanted to do it next month.

School Monthly Awards

Double Award day for our two outstanding students.  Skylar got the AVID Award which is pretty much best all around.  She is well behaved, motivated, organized, and of course, really smart.  Madden came home with the Academics Award.  We couldn't be more proud of them!

Dance Viewing Week 2018

Nothing excites me more than viewing week at dance.  This year Skylar has a three hour block on Tuesdays of Tap, Jazz, and Ballet, and after years of trying to convince her to do hip hop she gave in.  She and Madden are in the same class which brings me even more joy!

Jog a Thon 2018

Who ever said it never rains in San Diego?!? Well, lucky for us the biggest storm of the season decided to hit on the day of the kids Jog a thon.  I thought for sure it was going to be moved to another day, but the principal wanted to move forward with the event.  I think she was hoping if we shortened the running time, we would be able to get both running races done before the rain hit.

Skylars class was Team BLUE.  She was determined to beat her lap count from last year.

When the moms who put on the Jog a Thon said they were looking for a couple MCee's for the event.  There was no questions, I was signing up Jake and Tyson for the job, and boy did they nail it.  They were on the mic during the first wave hyping the kids up, making jokes, running laps, high fiving kids, giving the sponsors shout outs, just really making the event extra exciting.  I can't tell you how many people came up to me and praised Jake's performance.

Skylar rocked it by running 22 laps in the 30 minutes they gave the kids.

Next it was the lower grades turn.  I went into Madden's class to help get the kids ready to run, but they looked to have they under control.

Right as we were lining the kids up to take the to the track the rain started pouring down and the winds started kicking up.  The principal had all the kids go into the MPR in hopes it would stop and told Jake and Tyson to entertain the crowd.  Sadly the rain wasn't stopping and the kiddos weren't able to run, but they got a lot of laughs from the two coaches on stages and enjoyed smoothies.  Lucky for Madden they are rescheduled to run next Friday morning.

Soccer Season 2018

We have had a lot of great and fun soccer seasons, but this years definitely takes the cake.  Jake took a break from coaching Skylars team and coached Madden's team for the first time.  Madden's team was The Dragons and they had a great season.  Madden had a couple buddies from school on the team so that made it a really cool season for him.  Madden did great and even made All-Stars for his age.  He typically scored a goal each game and really improved on his ball handling skills, but most of all he enjoyed every minute of it.   We are defintely ready for him to move up to the larger field next year.

Skylar was on The Wolves and man, were they good.  Her team went undefended for the for season, which was so awesome.  Watching them all play was just so much fun! The whole team was made up of girls from Poinsettia which just added to the amazing experience.  Skylar learned a lot from Coach Greg and Coach Julie this year.  She had a couple of nice games and touches/passes on the ball and we couldn't of been more proud of her always trying her best out on the field.  Since Skylars team was undefeated they were placed really high in the end of the season tournament and sadly couldn't get a win, but in the end it didn't matter because the girls still had the best time together.

All smiles even after not succeeding the the tournament.  I could watch these girls play all year around.
