April 2022

We had a great time supporting Lennon and taking part in the Autism walk held at the March Air Force Museum.  Matthew and Erin did such a great job putting together Lennon's team and in the end Lennon raised the most money.

Poinsettia held their Mother Son Event which was bowling this year.  The bowling alley was insane with a bunch of wild boys, but they had such a blast.  I really love Madden's group of buddies.

Madden's 10th Birthday

DOUBLE DIGITS!!! HOW DID WE GET HERE?!?!  It's still hard to believe that my baby is 10 years old.  He is just growing up so fast that I would give anything to slow down time.

I tried to come up with a plan to throw Madden a birthday party, but I just couldn't get it together.  Either way, Madden wasn't really hyped on it, so that is probably why I wasn't pushing too hard.  His one request was to do Disneyland, so that is what I made sure happened.  This year his birthday was on a Friday, so it turned into a birthday weekend for him.

He came home from school and immediately wanted to open all his gifts.

He received a lot of great presents, but it was the virtual reality system that was his favorite.

That evening after our football game we invited a couple buddies and their families to Draft Republic for dinner.  The kids played in the stimulator and had a blast.

Saturday afternoon we heading to Disneyland.  Madden main objective was to ride the Incredicoaster.  He has backed out last time we were there and I think he kicked himself for not riding it then.  We made sure to hop on it right away, which he ended up loving every second of it.

Getting ready for Soarin.

Rode Cars at night which you can't beat.  It really is the best ride.

We stayed at Disney until closing time.  Madden had an absolute blast and was so happy the whole time we were there.

We ended the birthday weekend on Sunday with a last few requests.  First request from Madden was a full body massage...haha, so of course I took him because who am I to say no to a massage.  Then he asked for his birthday dinner, which was sushi.  And we topped off the weekend with a homemade ice cream sundae in a margarita glass.

Happy 10th Birthday to my Best Friend!

Easter/Spring Break 2022

This year the kids spring break was really late so they were on a major countdown for that week off.  So when it finally hit we were extremely excited.  Since the purchase of the Palm Springs House we were all looking forward to spending the week there.  We kicked off the week with hosting Easter Sunday.  The kids were excited for Lennon and Morrison to join them for some fun.  They swam and had a egg hunt, while Jake BBQ and we just enjoyed the holiday.

We had the Rossitto's out for a day.  It was awesome being able to host them at our new place.

Kids taking a break from the sun.

We walked from the house to downtown Palm Springs.

Next visitor was Lucy and her mom.  So Skylar was in heaven having her bestie out there.

We had dinner in downtown and walked the streets during the warm evening.

By the end of the week it was just the four of us.  We went on a hike that is close to home, with a fun waterfall at the end of it.

The Living Desert was hosting a fun LED event that we decided to go to last minute.  It was really fun being there in the evening.

To end the trip was did a really fun escape room, where we all really kicked butt and made it out until the 60 minute window.

It was a really great spring break and are looking forward to more spring breaks out in the desert.

Copa de Carlsbad ⚽

Every year Carlsbad Unified puts together a one day, round robin soccer tournament for all the elementary schools play in.  Again, because of covid it hasn't happened for two years, so when the school announced it was back all the school were stoked.  I immediately recommended Jake to coach our schools boys team.  He held try outs where boys of all skill levels came out. Jake said about 50 boys participate in the try outs, which was fun for he 4th and 5th grade boys at the school.  In the end Jake was able to get it down to our 10 top players.

Of course the day of the tournament it was 90+ degrees.  Our boys played great, but unfortunately due to the point systems (which we think was unfair), we didn't make it to the semi-finals because of our lost in our second game.  Either way, the boys had a blast and I was fun seeing Madden play in this special tournament.  Can't wait to see how we do next year!

Madden's School Jog-a-Thon

It was so great to see the jog-a-thon back at school after not having it for two years.  Madden knocked it out of the park and ran 55 laps.  He never stop running, besides when he was pouring water on his head.  He definitely ran the most laps in his class and I believe his class raised the most money.  It was a great fundraiser for the school and just so fun watching the kids participate.

Cramping up at the end.
