Madden's Last Day of Preschool

Well, its an end of an era in the Ernest household as we no longer have a preschooler in the house.  It's been four years straight of preschool fun in our house and seeing it come to an end definitely wasn't easy.  For the last month Madden has been saying how excited he was for school to end because he wants to go to Kindergarten, but when I was holding his hand and walking him to Room 2 for the last time he told me he was a little sad.

I remember being extremely nervous for Madden to start preschool.  He was in a really tough stage and I honestly thought he wasn't going to make it, but from the first day when we dropped him off preschool has brought him nothing but the greatest joy.  He has made the greatest friendships and proven to be a wonderful student.  His teachers tell me he is the leader in the classroom and all the kids gravitate towards him as he is very fun and charismatic towards everyone.  We couldn't be more proud of the strides he has made and watching him grow this past two years have truly been so special.

Carol and Madden.  During his time at preschool Madden has mentioned several girls who are his "girlfriend," and Carol was definitely one of them.

For graduation the kids sang several songs to say good-bye to preschool.

Madden and his best friend Carter.  These two couldn't of been closer.

Madden and Ms. Marian.  Probably the sweetest person we have ever had in our life.

Ms. Tanya.  She put up with a lot of Madden's silliest these past two years.

Oh how he has grown.
Looking forward to what the future will be bringing this handsome guy!

Dads & Donuts 2017

With the end of our preschool era quickly approaching we have been trying to cherish every little preschool moment we have left.  Jake got to celebrate he last ever Dads and Donuts with Madden last week.

Butterfly Farm Field Trip

This year Madden's preschool got a new director who wanted to start doing field trips for the kids, so last week Madden experienced his first field trip to the Butterfly Farm.

The boys were super excited.

Then they got a little too excited and Ms. Tanya had to give them a little talking too before we started.

Room 2.

The field trip started off with a powerpoint presentation that was WAY over the kids heads.  I kind of felt bad for them, but they were so good and sat through the whole thing.

After the 25 minutes of boredom the kids got to go into the butterfly farm where they were able to get up close and personal with 100s of butterflies.  The kids were so good and followed all the rules and just admired all of the beautiful butterflies.

I would definitely consider our first field a huge success.

Moms & Muffins

I love starting my Mother's Day weekend off by celebrating Moms & Muffins at preschool.  This one was extra special/hard seeing that it is my last one ever.

Madden made me a beautiful flower on a stem, a corsage and a painted picture frame.

During breakfast all the kids sang this adorable "Mommy" song that brought tears to my eyes.  Since then Madden has been singing it to me ever night.

The kids also had a little trick up their sleeves as they made all the mom gets up and do their favorite dance.....the chicken dance.

Us Moms are really lucky to have these kiddos love us the way they do.

Madden's Jog-a-Thon 2017

Madden was pretty pumped up for his school's 2nd Annual Jog-a-Thon.  We cut up his shirt to make it more comfortable for him to run in.  All the teachers and parents gave him several compliments on his muscle tee.

Arriving at the field.

Ready, set, go!!
The kids ran for a total of 25 minutes with a small break in between.

After run smiles.

Madden ended up running a total of 56 laps.  He was one of the top finishers in his class.

Pajama Day

If you can't tell by the massive smile on his face, pajama day at school is definitely one of his favorite days. This year for pajama day they made it extra special by giving the kids pancakes and hot chocolate.  Madden said he requested extra syrup on his pancakes.

Madden's Holiday Performance 2016

I must say I was a little sentimental about going to watch my last preschool holiday performance.  Seeing their cute little faces up there singing the sweet Christmas songs brings me so much joy.  Madden was really pumped for his performance, we had been practicing the songs at home and he even told me before we left how excited he was to have Mom and Dad watch him sing.  Well, I don't know if Madden was too excited or got really nervous because he decided to spend most of the performance sticking his tongue out and not singing.  So that Christmas joy I was hoping for turned into embarrassment.

Walking in for the show.

Tongue in full affect.

Yep....thats my boy 😝😝😝

Mr. Jokester exiting the show!

Afterwards we headed to his classroom for his holiday party.  He played with his best buddies and ate about 7 donuts.
