Spring Break this year was a little bit hit and miss. After last year’s Mammoth trip—hands down our best ski trip ever, with tons of snow, perfect weather, and full days on the mountain—we were hoping to recreate that magic. But Mother Nature had other plans.
Mammoth got a massive storm back in February, and then March came in with some of the warmest weather in years. By the time our spring break rolled around, nearly half the mountain was shut down. Not exactly what we had imagined—but we made the best of it.
We managed to ski two days (I was a little rusty and didn’t take a single photo to prove it 😅), and on our last day we switched things up with a hike and a visit to the hot springs, which ended up being such a highlight.
Skylar brought Grace along, and she was the perfect travel companion. The girls had the best time heading off on their own to ski, while we stayed back with Madden as he continues to learn and get more confident on his snowboard.
All in all, it may not have been the trip we expected, but it was still filled with great moments. Already looking forward to the next mountain trip—hopefully with a little more snow next time!
