August 2017

Legoland Waterpark date with Stella and Izzie.

Skylar and a group of her girlfriends had a date night to see a wonderful production of The Little Mermaid.  It was amazing!

Yes people....hell has frozen over....Skylar FINALLY learned how to ride a bike, so we have the Peppertree Biker Gang cruising the streets.

Several Beach days and Nights with our redeemer crew.

I put together a little video of the summer highlights with our friends from Redeemer.  Couldn't of asked for a better group to spend most of our summer with.

Madden's First Day of Kindergarten

Yep!! We officially have another kindergartener in the house again.  Madden was amazing on his first day.  He was excited to go and was way too cool to give his mom a kiss good-bye.  He walked right in, grabbed his name tag, hung up his backpack, and sat right in the middle of the circle without looking back once.  I couldn't of been more proud!!

Madden is an Late Owl this year and he has the same teachers as Skylar had, Mrs. Valenty and Mrs. Brisebois.

Can't wait to see how much he grows this upcoming school year!

Skylar's First Day of 2nd Grade

My baby is growing up. I told her this morning when I was getting her ready for school that I can still remember dropping her off at day care when she was barely 9 months and now she is starting 2nd grade.  Where has the time gone?!?!  She kept saying she didn't want to go back to school, but once we arrived she seemed pretty excited to be with all her friends.

This year we were blessed again to have Mrs. Aubertin as Skylar's teacher.  She was fabulous last year, so we couldn't of been more please to have her for a second year.

Too make it even sweeter, she is once again with her BFF Lucy (third year in a row), and Olivia who was her one of her other first friends from Kindergarten is back with her as well.  Pretty sure these girls are going to have a blast together this year.

#E40 Cabo Style

With Eric turning the Big 4-O Jess decided to plan him a blow out bash in Cabo.  There was a group of about 9 couples who all made the trip down to celebrate Eric, and it couldn't of been a better group of friends to be with.

The first night we ate dinner at a restaurant right on the beach.  It was a delicious six course meal that Jess picked out.

The next day was sun and fun all day.  We rented a cabana by the pool and everyone soaked in the sun and drank all their calories.

A couple of the guys chartered a small boat and headed over to lovers beach.  They jumped off rocks and hit the pacific side of the ocean which was triple the size waves.

Night two was another lovely dinner, drinks and the everyone watching the big Mayweather/McGregor fight.  Most people were really beat down after the sun so it ended up being an earlier night then the first.

The morning of our flight we just walked the beach and hung out in the warm ocean water until it was time to leave for the airport.  It was a great way to celebrate Eric and put an end to summer.

Newport Beach 2017

We have had quite a beach filled summer.  Madden has become a boogie boarding machine and Skylar loves the water more than ever.  Lucky for us we got to spend a week at a beach house in Newport Beach with my parents to end our summer of beach days.

Only way to start your week at the beach is to indulge on donuts for breakfast.

I invited Jackie and her boys down for the day.  Lincoln was at camp so he missed out, but Henry, Weston, Skylar and Madden had a blast.

Tuesday we woke up to rain, which was a surprise for all of us.  Once the rain stopped we jumped on our bikes and took the kids down to the fun zone for the overcast morning.

Skylar walked into the arcade played one game and immediately one 500 tickets.  She was so excited.

When we were here two years ago the kids were a little too timid to do the trampoline but this year they couldn't get enough of it.

On top of the Ferris Wheel.

I was really proud of the kids because the ride down to the Fun Zone is pretty far (maybe two miles), but they rocked it.  Both there and back they never complained.  And we also have to keep in mind that Skylar was barely riding a bike two weeks ago, and she rode like a she had been riding for years.

By the time we got back to the beach house the sun was shining and we hit up the beach for the rest of the afternoon.

That evening the kids roasted JUMBO sized marshmallows.

The next day Matthew came down with Lennon, which the kids were absolutely thrilled about.  Lennon wanted to do everything the kids did.  He was Madden shadow the whole day and would get sad every time Madden would go boogie boarding.  They had so much fun together.

Keep in mind too that Skylar wasn't even boogie boarding two weeks earlier either.  She was out there more than Madden this week.

My Dad also invited Brent and Jackie down, who brought Harper and Delany.

After dinner we walked down the boardwalk to the pier for dessert.

My Mom rented a Duffy boat for our last day so we invited the Rossittos' down to enjoy the fun.  We rode around the bay for over an hour let each kid take turns captaining the boat.  Lucky for us we got to see a seal up close during our cruise.

We ended our evening at Sabatino's for our traditional dinner there.

Sadly we had to leave early since both the kids started soccer this week, but we definitely made the best of our time and look forward to the next time we are down in Newport Beach.

Attached is a little movie summing up our trip.
