October 2017

Ninjago Movie Day with the Madden Kids.

Celebrating Peyton's 2nd Birthday.

The kids got BOOed!

Heading out on our BOO mission.  Skylar ended up chickening out and Madden had to do the two BOO drops.

We had our redeemer crew over for a Halloween Party. Kids made mummy dogs and we walked the neighborhood.

Mix & Match Day at school.

Everyones favorite day...pajama day.

Halloween at Dance Class.  Madden went with a Hulk shirt and Skylar was a Mouse.

Peppertree Pirates Block Party.

Emoji pumpkin carvings this year.

Halloween 2017

Call me crazy but I actually came up with our Halloween theme the day after last years Halloween.  I don't know what it is with this holiday, I just can't help myself.  It didn't take too much convincing for the kids.  Once I told Madden he gets to carry a Tommy gun and showed Skylar her costume they were both sold.

Johnny and CJ joined us because once you trick or treat in Bressi you honestly can't go anywhere else.

We started up at Jess and Eric's house before everyone headed out.

Uncle Chris absolutely NAILED IT this year!  He put on this super scary mask and sat right next to the fog machine and did these creepy slow moves of pulling out this massive sword.  All night people were tripping out on him, not knowing if he was real or fake.  He even brought down a couple strobe lights that we put up in the kids room.  I had a mom come up to me and asked me to let her kid know that no one was getting hurt upstairs.

I probably say it ever year, but this was by far the busy Halloween.  There was mobs of people and I swear by 7:15 PM I was already running out of candy.  I had to put my hand in kids baskets and pretend to give them candy because I didn't have enough to last until 8:00 PM.  Sadly a lot of the little toddlers didn't receive a piece from me...hehe!  Madden was my little partner, we were passing out candy non-stop to so many people.  Once we started running really low Madden was sweet enough to donate all the candy he got trick or treating into our bucket to keep us going.  Jake did grab a handful of it and put it back in his basket because we knew he would regret it a bit.

The kids did the most trick or treating ever.  They hit up a ton of houses and Skylar even went out twice, since her friend Cassie came by and asked if Skylar could go out for round 2 with them.  She spend most of her time trick or treating and eating candy this year.

I feel like we definitely nailed our look this year.  I told the kids last night what I wanted to do for next year, but I was sadly turned down by them both, so I'm going to have to put my thinking cap back on.

Harvest Day Parade

I'm loving the kids finally being at the same school and being able to have the same fun experiences together.  To kick off Halloween Day the kids participated in the schools annual Harvest Parade.  Madden had his costume all picked out the night before, but of course woke up grumpy and wanted to completely change it.  He told me he was scared of the parade, so I had to go back on the blog and show him videos from when Skylar did it in when she was in Kindergarten and that calmed his nerves and he put his card costume on right away.  Skylar didn't want to break out her Halloween costume just yet, so she wore her dance recital outfit and told friends she was a pop star.

Popstar Skylar and Bruno Mars!

Both the kids weren't giving Jake and I any love during the parade.  We barely got a smile from them for some reason, but we could tell they were having fun!

Skylar with her friend Cassie.

Here is a quick movie I put together of them during the parade.

Dance Viewing Week

We get two weeks out of the year where we get to go view the kids at dance.  This Fall's viewing week was a extra special one because Madden has started Hip-Hop class.

After several attempts to get Skylar to try Hip-Hop and just no after no, I got Madden to do it.  After his trial class his teacher told me he had the biggest smile on his face during class.  He comes home and teaches us the dance moves he learns each week, but this was the first time we were going to see him in his full element.

It was awesome being able to watch Skylar and see how much she improves each year.  She loves Jazz/Tap as she is with all her friends.  Ballet, she seems a lot of timid.  She is the smallest one in class and I won't lie, we caught a couple yawns out of her...haha!

Below is a some what long video I put together summing up dance viewing week for the kids.

Pumpkin Patch 2017

I'm not going to lie, the past couple years that we haven't gone out to Bates Nut Farm, the pumpkin patch trips just don't feel like they use too.  The pumpkins aren't as good, everything is double in price and I don't get the Fall feel.  Luckily the kids don't feel any of this, they just see jumpies and are in heaven.  The pumpkin patch on Palomar was a must to go to this year for us.  The kids and I drive on Palomar several times a week so once they saw it go up, it was a daily question on when they were going to be able to go there.  So Jake took off early one Monday and off we went.

Madden got a little to dare devil like and decided not to slide down, but do a jump and ended up kneeing his chest pretty hard after that.  He recovered, thank goodness, but definitely lots of tears.

Sophie, Maddie, and Sophia joined us on the pumpkin fun.

We got our pumpkins and called it a afternoon.  Thinking next year we made make the journey out to Bates.
