September 2019

We had a great visit from the Finkel Family.

Poinsettia Elementary Pancake Breakfast.

Madden was the big winner in the BIG BROTHER 21 Fantasy Player Game.  Walked away with a cool $120.00.

Celebrating Grandpa

Don't think I can come up with the words for this blog entry, its simple too hard for me, but I didn't not want to put something in.

Paul/Grandpa will forever be in our hearts 💗.  I feel blessed that I was able to be apart of his family.  I'm thankful for the man who he was, because he raised Jake who is the most incredible man/husband/father that I know and I know he got it all from him.  My kids are better and will be better people for having him be their one and only "Grandpa."

We love you!

Monthly Awards

Well you know that your kid is extra special when they receive the first's month school awards; at least that is what I think 😂.  Skylar and Madden are starting their 4th and 2nd grade year right by both receiving the Academic's Awards for their classes.

Brace Faces

Well that day has finally come for Skylar and Madden.....BRACES!  They have been wearing their expanders for what seemed like forever and now its time to put on the real hardware.  Madden was so excited for them, it was quite funny, while Skylar was more like "whatever."

The BEFORE photos.

Now the AFTER.....

I was so proud of them.  They both look so cute with them on. Skylar only got them on the top, while we were all surprise when Madden came out with top and bottom.  Skylar took them like a champ and never really complained about pain.  Poor Madden was in tears the night of and hardly ate the first couple days as he said they hurt too bad (he was quite the grump, but we gave him a break).  We are about five days in and everything seems to be going smoothly.  Hopefully it's a quick year or so with them on.

Catalina Swim

After last years Catalina Swim I told myself I was never going to do that again, but of course that was a lie.  Once all the master swimmers start talking about it and telling me how much fun I'll have I can't say "no."  This year was a bit different because Jake and the kids couldn't join me which was a little bit of a bummer, but also kind of nice having a little weekend to myself.  I did really well in the swim, I came in 4th place out of all us who swam the entire three miles and I even improved on my time from last year by swimming it in 1 hour and 22 minutes.  Three minutes faster than last year.  The water was a great temp, but it was a lot more choppy than the year before.  Once I hit the last .5 miles I put the pedal to the metal and swam as fast as I could to get it over with, leaving behind my swim partner.  Everyone did a great job and it was fun watching everyone else come back in have finishing.  We had a wonderful gathering on the rooftop of my hotel and enjoy each others company.  As of now I'm telling myself I'm taking next year off, but we all know how much I stick to my word when it comes to swimming.
