July 2016

Pool days all summer long.  The kids are turning into little fishes.

Lauren took Madden to the strawberry fields where he mostly ate them while she picked.

Skylar and Sophie had a summer sleepover.

Concert at the Cape Rey.

Madden had a pool party with his preschool classmates.

Summer Concert in the Park fun.

After two years of dancing at the same studio, but different classes, Sophie and Skylar are finally in the same class and couldn't be more thrilled about it.

Took a overnight trip to Palm Springs with my fav people.  It was great for all us moms to be #offduty for 24 hours.

Beach Kids Camp - 2016

Summer 2016 is a little over half way through and Skylar is finishing up her last camp of the summer.   For the past two weeks she has been doing Encinitas Beach Kids Camp.  She has been down at the beach for three hours a day swimming, boogie boarding (yes she broke her boogie boarding fear), building sandcastles, and learning beach safety.  She has a ton of different friends doing it and has been having a complete blast!

Why is it so hard to say "Goodbye"

Last week we all had to say good-bye to our dear nanny Lauren.  Lauren has been with us for the past year and she has been nothing but beyond fabulous.  She took such amazing care of Skylar and Madden that Jake and I never had one worry.  She took the kids on endless trips to legoland, the library, chuck e cheese, the movies, and the trampoline park.  She would spend afternoon helping with homework and driving both Skylar and Madden to and from school and their activities.  The kids grew to love her so much as did I that when she told us she was going to be moving back east to be with her boyfriend it was heartbreaking.  She was sweet enough to give us plenty of notice, but when her last day came it was still very hard to take.  The kids gave her big hugs and were happy to take pictures with her, while both Lauren and I were in tears.

As most working mom's know, its never easy find good care takers for your kids, so when you do, losing one is never easy.  We are so thankful to Lauren for loving our kids as if they were her own, and hope to always keep in touch with her.

Tennis Camp 2016

We are two for two on summer camps so far.  Tennis camp was a huge success! Skylar and Sophie actually liked it more than Cheer Camp.  The coach was awesome and really got the girls motive to play.  Skylar said next summer she wants to go for two weeks, instead of one.

4th of July 2016

This year for the 4th we kept it all in the hood!!  We started our morning with the annual Bressi Ranch 4th of July parade.  It was a nice, overcast morning so the weather couldn't of been better for the parade.

After the parade we headed to the pool for some swimming and lunch.  It was busy with most of the neighborhood enjoying the sun that had just popped out.  Madden sadly got stung by a bee for the first time, so we definitely were the center of attention with the screaming child, but he did great with his first sting.  Didn't even want ice or anything, just wanted to be in moms arms and eating Red, White, and Blue gummy bears.

After the pool and a couple naps we headed over to the Kurisu's for some BBQ.  Mike just got a smoker so he smoked us some ribs, steak and chicken.  The kids had a water balloon fight, did the slip and slide, and played all afternoon and into the evening.

Jake's enormous jell-o shots.

Water balloon fight.  No one was safe!

Once the sun went down we headed to the top of the hill to watch the firework shows from Legoland, Avaira, and La Costa.  Lisa, our neighbor gave the kids boxes of the little poppers which they loved throwing on the ground and seeing them spark.  Neighbors had there own firecrackers going off as well so the night was definitely lite up.  It was a great 4th of July with awesome friends!

Cheer Camp 2016

Summer is here which means, summer camps are in full effect.  To kick off the summer camp the girls participate in Cheer Camp.  This was Skylar's second year at this camp and she couldn't of been more thrill to have her BFF doing it with her.  They learned cheers, did arts and crafts, played endless games, had a water fight, and learned some hip hop dance moves.

Like last year the coach invites all the parents to watch the performance the girls had been working on all week.

Here is the link to the dance the girls choreographed on there own.  Skylar said they learned it the day before the performance, which kind of shows, but it was still really cute.

The below link is the girls big dance performance.

The girls had a blast doing it and it was the perfect way to kick off summer camps season!
