August 2018

Summer slumber party shenanigans for these two.

Just a quick round of 18 holes for these two.  Jake has been taking them to the course and they have been loving it.

Summer evening at the beach.

Ava's 8th birthday party, swimming and snakes!

Skylar's First Day of 3rd Grade/Madden's First Day of 1st Grade

Summer fun is over and we are back to school.  The last week and half of summer wasn't easy.  Kids were at each others a lot (especially Madden), and I think they were in need of a routine and some time apart.  With the start of this school year it also gave us a new milestone...first time BOTH kids are in FULL TIME school (YAHOO....for me!!!). never thought we would make it to this point of life.

The kids were both really happy with their teachers this year.  Madden got Mrs. Burns and Skylar was assigned to Mrs. Fullers class.

The only heartbreak of this year was that Lucy and Skylar didn't get into the same class.  These two have been in class since kinder together and best friends the whole time, so it defintely was hard to take in.

Luckily these two rascals are together again.

Skylar and Olivia.

A big thumbs up after flag salute letting Mom know he is going to be just fine.

Another super exciting thing for Skylar this year is that she is reunite with her preschool besties.  They have been at the same school together for three years but never in the same class together until now.

Skylar, Emma, and Madeline.

Off to class.

Looking forward to what this school year is going to bring these outstanding students.

Newport Beach

We had the best time down in Newport with the family this summer.  The kids absolutely LOVED being with Lennon and Morrison for 3 straight days.  Of course we did a ton of beach time.  Each day we would spend hours out on the sand.  The water temp was really warm so endless time in the water for everyone.  Some of the highlights were eating donuts every morning for breakfast (thanks Papa), several bike rides, digging tons of big holes in the sand, learning to play adult monopoly, my Dads new beach chair breaking after two days (haha), Skylar attempting to surf before the lifeguard made her stop because no surfboards were allowed at that time, Saved by the Bell trivia between myself, my brother, and John Ross, Jakes delicious meals, flossing contest (which we deemed Madden the winner, mini golf in the sand, endless desserts, and tons of laughs.

Of course, I am now kicking myself for not taking any pictures, don't ask why because I have no idea 😖!  Luckily Erin got a couple of the kids enjoying their time together.

Tap Camp - 2018

This year the theme for Skylar's tap camp was Stomp the Yard.  She loves tapping so making sure we fit in tap camp in the summer is always must.  Lucky for her some of her closes friends were in the camp with her as well.

Brooke, Stella, Skylar and Sophie.

Besides tapping and learning their routine for the end of camp performance they do a lot of other fun stuff.  They get into groups and researched a famous tapper, arts and crafts and even got to watch Singing in the Rain.

We were all so impressed by the Stomp the Yard performance they were all able to put together in just 5 short days.
