Christmas 2020

Making sure we were safe and stayed healthy we didn't have our annual large Christmas Eve gathering at my parents house.  It was sad not seeing the extended family, but we still have a really nice time spending the holiday with my brother, Lennon and Morrison.  My mom made a delicious dinner and the kids ran all over Nana and Papa's house and then opened up gifts from each other.

Leaving cookies and milk for Santa.

Getting their first glance at their presents.

Skylar got the hoverboard connector she had been wanting and Madden received his RC car.

Overflowing stocking.

Of course the newest WWE video game from Grandma.

Saved by the Bell board game from mom.

We got dad the latest GoPro.

Jake and the kids got me my bike helmet for the electric bike I got for Christmas.

The kids get each other gifts each holiday.  Madden got Skylar her first WWE shirt and Skylar got Madden a T-Shirt from his favorite YouTuber.

Books from Grandma.

Family photo.

Nana and Papa spoiled Madden be getting him not one, but two WWE Belts and a gamer chair.  Don't worry, Skylar wasn't left out as Nana and Papa got her a new iPhone which almost bought tears to her eyes.

Hoping next Christmas looks a bit different and that we are with more of our family members celebrating the holiday.

Carlsbad Dance Holiday Performances

For the first time the kids dance center did short holiday performances and sent videos to the parents.  It's hard not being able to go into the studio for viewing week so it was nice they put these together for the families.

Soccer Season 2020

Since the pandemic youth sports have taken a hit, so when soccer signs ups came around we weren't going to pass up the chance to play.  Jake, of course, signed up to coach for his 4th or 5th season head coaching.  There was a ton of rules and do's and don't, one being no scrimmaging, pretty sure Jake had the boys scrimmaging the first practice..haha!  We had one game where we played against another team which we won.  For the rest of the season we were only allowed to play against our own team, which wasn't ideal but the boys made the best of it.  Madden was stiller this season and we saw such an improvement in his skills.  The best part was that Madden had his good buddies on the team with him.  The four of them were the team all stars and pretty much were the only players to score goals which was really fun to watch.  Hoping next season will be back to normal the kids can get back on the field for real games.

Team Rage.

Madden, Evan, Travis and Luke.

Skylar's Academic Award

Even with barely being in school Skylar is still rocking it.  She received the Academic Award for the month of November.  Sad that we couldn't see her receive it at a school assemblies, but we are still just as proud.

November 2020

Doing whatever I can to get these girls out of the house.  That day I took them to the corn maze and BJs for treats.

Skylar and her friends celebrating Aubrey's 11th Birthday.  They did a scavenger hunt in Target and then had a sleepover and didn't go to bed until 5:00 AM.  Skylar passed out in her bean bag chair for hours when she got home.

Evan, Madden and Travis have been having a great time playing soccer together this season.

Cabo 2020

We are now in November and the Covid-19 pandemic is something we are are still living with day in and day out.  Sadly its only gotten worse and for Thanksgiving we were being told it's in everyone best interest to not gather with family members.  Well Jake and I took that to heart and decided to be as far away as possible from family and head down south of the boarder to Cabo and social distance in 80+ degree weather.  I have always wanted to try Mexico in the Fall and this was the perfect excuse.  Being the loyal people we are we stayed at our same hotel.  The hotel was at a smaller capacity and we did our best to stay safe and keep our distance from others.  After being at home for months now the beautiful Cabo water was just what we all needed.  We swam, ate, swam, ate on complete repeat and soaked in all the sun we could.  It was the escape we all definitely needed.

We traveled home on Thanksgiving so I must admit I did miss the annual Thanksgiving feast.  Madden, Jake, and I dined on egg and bean burritos and Skylar had a hot dog.  As fabulous as Cabo was I'm looking forward to next year when we can be with our family and enjoy all the Thanksgiving fixings.
