June 2015

Skylar and Sophie had a trial run for a sleep over by attempting to take a nap together.  No nap occurred.

16 Years of Friendship, 9 kids, 2 on the way, and still going strong!

Movie Night in the Park.  Kids got to watch Big Hero 6 and enjoy fresh popcorn and candy.

Adults Night Out celebrating Jenna's Birthday.

Jake was Mr. Mom a lot this month. He took the day off and he and Madden hit up the Wild Animal Park.

Then he took an afternoon off and he and Skylar went to Oceanside and scootered up and down the coast and had dinner.

Madden met up with Skylar and Dad in Oceanside.

Finally convinced Skylar to take her training wheels off.

Had a blast with Daniel and Mila at the Legoland Waterpark.

Jake and I had a quick getaway to Las Vegas.  We hung by the pool, had a nice dinner, saw a show, and gambled, all kid free.

Skylar's Last Day of Preschool

Well as they say, all good things must come to an end and last week Skylar's preschool days did just that.  It's hard to believe that it has already been two years of preschool for her.  We had such a wonderful experience at Redeemer in Room 7 that we wouldn't of changed a thing.

Madden was very excited to watch Sissy graduate.

Hard to believe these two will be starting Kindergarten in the Fall.  They have been so lucky to be best friends, live next door to each other, and be at the same preschool together.  Next year will definitely be hard at first with them attending different schools.  So sad to see their school era come to an end.

For the graduation ceremony the kids performed four different songs.  I was able to hold it together until they sang "I Am A Promise."  It was too cute not to tear up for.

Room 7 with Ms. Paulette and Ms. L

After the performance all the families headed back to Room 7 for the end of the year party.  Kids ate donuts, bagels and ice cream...all before 10:30 AM.

Daniel, Ellie, Skylar, Emma, Parker, Conner.

These two couldn't get enough of each other this year.  Everyday I would ask Skylar what she did at school.  Her first response every time was "I played with Daniel." I know she is going to miss him next year.

The Graduates!!

Graduation isn't the end of a journey, it's just the beginning of a beautiful one.  Can't wait to see what Elementary School has in store for this fascinating, sweet girl of mine.

Father's Day 2015

Father's Day weekend started off with Dads and Donuts in Skylar's class room.  Jake and Skylar ate donuts and she presented her Dad with a homemade tie, poem and card.

On Father's Day Sunday Jake went surfing and the kids and I made a yummy homemade breakfast for him.  Skylar cooked the sausage and eggs, while Madden cut all the fruit.  Dad said it was the best breakfast he had ever had!

I gave him just a butter knife :-)

A couple weeks ago we made plans to go to Legoland with the Finkel's on Father's Day.  It was the Finkel's first time to so we wanted to make sure we showed them good time.  Mackenzie had a blast and didn't want to stop going on rides.  Madden went on his first roller coast and couldn't get enough of it, while Skylar was in tears.  The Dads were all smiles being able to spend such a fun day with their kids.

Madden and his Buddies

Recently we have been trying to give Madden some guy time.  Being the younger brother of an older sister, he ends up spending a lot of time with Sissy and her friends.  Don't get me wrong he loves playing with all of them and does a pretty good job keeping up with the big kids, but its always great to get some one on one time with him and his buddies.

A couple weekends ago Jake took Madden to Touch a Truck with Jerry and Ben.  Madden loves Ben and tells us that Ben is his best friend all the time.  Jake said the the boys had a blast.  They played inside all types of trucks and cars and even watched a helicopter land right in front of them.  It was a total dudes day.

For weeks now I have been wanting to take Madden back to the strawberries fields.  Skylar being the non fruit eater that she is I decided she didn't need to come and we would make it a play-date for Madden and his friends.  We invited Ben, Dylan and Nathan.  Madden of course made me buy two big buckets because he was going to fill one and I fill the other, but it turned into Madden eating every strawberry he picked and Mom having to fill the two massive buckets.

The boys had a blast getting all dirty and picking and eating strawberry after strawberry.  Madden and Dylan ate so many I was getting worried that they would get stomach aches, but they were fine.  Madden asked for more strawberries with his lunch when we got home.

Lil Dudes!
