Newport Beach 2017

We have had quite a beach filled summer.  Madden has become a boogie boarding machine and Skylar loves the water more than ever.  Lucky for us we got to spend a week at a beach house in Newport Beach with my parents to end our summer of beach days.

Only way to start your week at the beach is to indulge on donuts for breakfast.

I invited Jackie and her boys down for the day.  Lincoln was at camp so he missed out, but Henry, Weston, Skylar and Madden had a blast.

Tuesday we woke up to rain, which was a surprise for all of us.  Once the rain stopped we jumped on our bikes and took the kids down to the fun zone for the overcast morning.

Skylar walked into the arcade played one game and immediately one 500 tickets.  She was so excited.

When we were here two years ago the kids were a little too timid to do the trampoline but this year they couldn't get enough of it.

On top of the Ferris Wheel.

I was really proud of the kids because the ride down to the Fun Zone is pretty far (maybe two miles), but they rocked it.  Both there and back they never complained.  And we also have to keep in mind that Skylar was barely riding a bike two weeks ago, and she rode like a she had been riding for years.

By the time we got back to the beach house the sun was shining and we hit up the beach for the rest of the afternoon.

That evening the kids roasted JUMBO sized marshmallows.

The next day Matthew came down with Lennon, which the kids were absolutely thrilled about.  Lennon wanted to do everything the kids did.  He was Madden shadow the whole day and would get sad every time Madden would go boogie boarding.  They had so much fun together.

Keep in mind too that Skylar wasn't even boogie boarding two weeks earlier either.  She was out there more than Madden this week.

My Dad also invited Brent and Jackie down, who brought Harper and Delany.

After dinner we walked down the boardwalk to the pier for dessert.

My Mom rented a Duffy boat for our last day so we invited the Rossittos' down to enjoy the fun.  We rode around the bay for over an hour let each kid take turns captaining the boat.  Lucky for us we got to see a seal up close during our cruise.

We ended our evening at Sabatino's for our traditional dinner there.

Sadly we had to leave early since both the kids started soccer this week, but we definitely made the best of our time and look forward to the next time we are down in Newport Beach.

Attached is a little movie summing up our trip.
