Museum of Ice Cream

So thanks to social media I discovered this pop-up museum that seemed to be all the rage.  I kept seeing different friends going to the Museum of Ice Cream and I knew I had to take the kids (especially Skylar since ice cream is one of her favorite things).  By the time I heard about the Museum all the tickets for the Los Angeles location were completely sold out.  So I got on the mailing list and waited for the next location to be announced, which turned out to be San Francisco.

Knowing we were going up to the city we made sure to go up a day early to spend some time with Great Grandma Mary.  She is definitely moving slow, but we were still able to get her out and about.  We went down to Coyote Point, she played card games with the kids, had dinner in downtown Burlingame, and top the day with going to Prestons for a treat.

The next morning we took the Bart into the city.  First time for the kids to use the public transit system.

Spent a little time walking around Union Square, before heading into the museum.

To the Museum we headed, where Skylar was jumping for joy.

First stop, a sample of ice cream.

We got to swim in a pool of rainbow sprinkles.  After the dip in the pool they had us take a sprinkle showers, which was definitely a first.

Next room was the diner where we had a sample of pink lemonade soft serve.

Madden jamming down to the jukebox.

Cloud and cherries room.

Being very namaste in the gummy room.

Taking a ride on a giant animal cookie.

Rainbow room where we got to sample on fruit popsicles.

Inside the rainbow room was this secret mirror room.

The last room was the mint room where we had the best mint mochi ice cream.

After the museum we walked down to the Embarcadero for lunch and then hopped into an uber to Pier 39.  We walked the pier and watched some street performers before we had to head back to the airport. It was a quick trip that was filled with a lot of sugar and fun!

  1. Now, you know how I loved all of these pictures! They could be an advertisement for San Francisco. Each picture was just full of joy! I enjoyed the picture of Skylar and Madden and Great Grand-ma Mary in front of Preston's. Yummy!
