Covid or Not, I wasn't going to let it ruin my favorite holiday. I had already picked out costumes for our family months and months ago, but with the pandemic still in full effect and knowing that Halloween wasn't going to be what it normally is, we made the switch. I wanted to make sure our costumes were "covid safe," but still cool looking, so Alien masks it was.
Several people in our neighborhood already proclaimed that they wouldn't be passing out candy or letting their kids trick or treat. I didn't agree with that and felt that both those could be done safely. Jake built me a candy shoot to keep with social distancing. I usually purchase well over 1000 pieces of candy, but not knowing what this year was going to look like I kept it calm and only bought 500/600 pieces. By the end of the night I still had about 200 pieces left so it was definitely a lot less people this year.
Madden had a bit of a rougher Halloween than last. He started his day by waking up at 5:00 AM which Jake and I knew wasn't going to be good. By the time it was to head out and go trick or treating his mood changed and he refused to go and then pouted inside the house. Luckily he came out for a bit and helped me pass out candy, but by the time Skylar came back from trick or treating I never saw him again until he asked me if he could go upstairs and take a shower. I think next year he will come back stronger than ever.
Alien Invasion
Madden and Jake's Pumpkin
Nicole and Skylar's Pumpkins
For the majority of the houses not passing out candy Skylar and her friends got a nice haul of candy.
Aubrey as Arthur the Mouse, Skylar the Alien and Ava and Lucy as Pepper and Salt.
Jake and I are the top of the candy shoot.
Had to drag these two apart that night.
Even though it wasn't your typical Bressi Halloween I'm glad we still made the best of it and enjoyed the evening...well at least 3 of us did. #poormadden
Love the "alien" costumes and jack-o-landerns. Great carving! Jake did a super job on the candy shoot. And, Nicole, I'm glad you made a great Halloween this year, even if it wasn't like year's past. For a Covid Halloween, you still made a fabulous evening...except for Madden's night. There's always next year. Happy Halloween, 2020! Love, Suzie
