Soccer Season - 2017

When parents with two kids or more tell you, just wait until they are both in sports, then you will see how busy life gets, you don't really know what to expect.  Well we had our first taste of it as Skylar and Madden both played soccer this Fall.  Skylar has been playing for four season now, and she finally moved up a level and played on the "big" field with goalies.  Jake and Eric stepped up again this season and coached the girls.  The girls voted on the team name of the Black Widows, which I absolutely loved (plus I came up with it).

I don't know what it was this season but Skylar really had her breakthrough year.  She really came into her own.  It was her most aggressive season by far.

With being on the bigger field you really have to play your position and Skylar was one of the few players who fully understood that concept.  She was able to play all the positions on the field and never complained once about where Jake would place her.  The only position was goalie, she wasn't into it.

The girls had a tough season, with winning only one game and tieing a couple.  They played their hearts out each game and wins or loses didn't seem to bother them that much.

I must admit I was really excited to see how Madden did on his first year of a team sport.  He started a year later than Skylar, as we thought he wasn't quite ready last year.  Madden got place on a the Blue Thunder, there wasn't any kids from his school on the team, but he was with his close friend Zackary.

Madden did great for his first season.  His coach was great and so was his team. They won most of their games.  Madden played at a great skill level for it being his first season. He scored a least a goal most games which of course was a thrill for him.

It was a great first season for him and we are definitely playing again next Fall.
