Halloween 2019

I was telling Jake how much pressure I feel now when it comes to our Halloween costumes.  I hear from people all the time how much they look forward to finding out what we are going to be each year.   Now, I know that can sound a little like I'm full of myself, but is true.  People love seeing and knowing what our costumes are each year that I don't want to disappoint.  Our Viking costumes were so popular that I was worried we wouldn't be able to live up to that look from last year, but I must say I believe we did.  Like most of our costumes, I believe I came up with the Devil/Angel idea on November 1st, 2018...haha.  It didn't take much to convince the kids, I told Madden he would get a pitchfork and he was sold.  Skylar at first didn't want to wear a wig, but once mine arrived and she tired it one, she wanted one as well.  Which I'm so glad about because the wigs were so key to our look.  Madden of course wanted to show off his guns so he wanted the sleeves cut of his costume and Jake followed his lead.  In the end, I was so happy with how our looks turned out.

I couldn't get over how beautiful Skylar look.  She really turned into a true angel.

These two had a blast being so devilish together..more to come on that.

My little devil and angel.

None of our look would be humanly possible if it wasn't for Rochelle.  Madden demand that Rochelle to do his devil make up which he absolutely loved.  She was such a god sent and did all of our make up which made our costumes so great.  The four of us are so grateful to her.

Before heading out trick or treating a quick stop for the kids at the Rossitto house.

Mabel, Skylar and Sophie.

A Devil with Cinderella's carriage.

Jake, Nico, and Evan.

Suzie came down and joined in on the Halloween fun.

Skylar with her girls, Aubrey and Lucy aka Minnie Mouse and Cookie Monster.  She left to do her second round of trick or treating with them and came home with over a 100 pieces of candy.

Madden did a little trick or treating but once the sun went down he wanted to scary the crowd.  He and Jake posted up on the bank in the smoke.  People would walk by and think that Madden was fake and that Jake was real.  Every so often Jake would jump out and scary the people walking up and down the street.  They had a blast freaking adults and kids out.

It was a very typical Halloween in Bressi Ranch.  I had 1500+ pieces of candy and I handed out only 1 piece per trick or treater and after 2 1/2 - 3 hours of passing out we were out of candy by 8:00 PM on the dot.  I love giving the candy out and seeing all the kids and friends come by in costume.  Of course we get the annoying teenager's who aren't in costume, adults who have a newborn who ask for candy, or just the typical adult in no costume with no kid asking for candy.  I did my best to deny them any candy and let them all know its only for kids who are dressed up and thankfully our house didn't get egged by all the ones I declined to give candy too.

Our costumes were a huge hit with everyone giving us compliments and asking to take pictures with us.  Halloween is always so much work but I wouldn't have it any other way.  Its my favorite day of the year and I can't wait for it to be on a Friday night next year!!!

  1. What a night! Diane's chili and corn bread started the evening that began with Rochelle's make-up and the first "trick-or-treaters" at 5:10. The SoCal Ernests became the "devils" and "angels" although there may have been more than a few "trick-or-treaters" who thought the "candy" angel might have been more like a devil. The videos of Madden and Jake as the devils were so good. I especially like the family picture. Such a wonderful night. The "witch" house may not have won a prize but it will always be special in many of the hearts of this year's "trick-or-treaters." Love, Suzie
