2015 Holiday Card

I usually don't do a write up for our Holiday Card but this year when I was putting our card together I felt it was a bit necessary.  I knew this year I didn't want to spend the money on a mini shoot because I know how Madden can be, so I came up with the idea of trying to get some cute photos while we were vacationing in Cabo.  Nothing difficult,  just a couple shots of us seating on the beach.  Well the second we got down to the beach, Madden was in his typical picture taking mood.  The picture below sum it all up.

I never got the perfect shot of the four of us, so I went with a card that kind of summed up our attempt at one.  

In the end it wasn't all screaming and yelling and we got a couple smiles out of him.

Pajama Day for Skylar

Madden and Skylar's Holiday Performances

We had a holiday filled day last week when we had Skylar and Madden’s Holiday Performances on the same day.  We started the morning off at Madden’s Performance and class party.  We had been practicing songs with both kids for weeks now, and Madden’s favorite to sing was Rudolph. He always wanted to sing it and would sometimes get mad when others sang the song, because he wanted to be the only one singing.  Funny thing was that Rudolph wasn’t even a song that was a part of Madden’s performance, but that didn’t seem to matter.

Madden arrived at the church with a huge smile on his face and looking ready to perform.

Jake and I were laughing because Madden seemed to be more into the hand movements and shaking the bells then the actually singing.  We really didn’t see many words coming out of him.  He kind of bombed “Away in the Manager” when it came to the singing (practicing Rudolph way too much), but had the perfect hand motions for the entire song.  In the end all the kids from Room 2 did a fantastic job.  We didn’t have any criers and Madden’s performance was of course the best one of the group.

After the performance all the parents and kids went back to the classroom for the holiday party.  It was so cute being in Madden’s element and seeing him in his classroom.  A couple moms told me that they would hear Madden’s name a lot from their kids which really made me happy knowing that he is interacting with a lot of his class.  He speaks the most about his friends Carter and Enzo which whom he spent most of his time with during the party.  It was a really fun morning and definitely a highlight of the holiday season for it.

Next came Skylar’s time to shine.  Hers was held in the evening so my Mom was able to come down to join us.  Nana bought Skylar the perfect dress for performance and even took her to get her hair done for the big show.  We were lucky enough to arrive in time for front row seats.  

Skylar was so excited to be with all her classmates and it was so fun seeing them all dressed up.

The kids sang five song and Skylar was so excited because she was one of the four kids in her class who was chosen to shake the bells during jingle bells.  When the kids sang Rudolph (highlight of the night for Madden), they put on their adorable Rudolph hats as a surprise for all the parents.  Madden was definitely his sisters biggest cheerleader during the whole performance.

It was such a special day for us and we both couldn’t of been more proud of both Skylar and Madden.  They both sung their hearts out and definitely made memorable moments for us this holiday season.

Christmas Jammies

Can't think of anything kids love more than jumping on a bed, but doing it in Christmas jammies makes it so much better.  These two are definitely loving the holiday season.

Bressi Ranch Holiday Party 2015

Now who says it never snows in Southern California?!?!  This past weekend was the Bressi Ranch Holiday party which was filled with snow.  It was our last event of the year and the social committee really wanted to go all out.  We even cancelled our Fall event to expand our budget for Christmas, which turned out to be the right move.

Santa, who has been coming to Bressi for over five years, brought so much cheer for all the kids, minus one....Madden.  He refused to get near him, and with him being older and stronger I didn't want him to give Santa a right hook, so we just let it be.  Skylar on the other hand was so excited to see him.  She is so lost on what she wants for Christmas this year (as am I on what to get her), that she just told Santa she trusts him to bring her whatever he wants.

Annual Hula Hoop contest.  Skylar didn't take top prize but her hula skills have gotten so much better.

The best part of the night was the snow sledding.  The line for it was never short and kids were having a blast.

This was our first big neighborhood event since Skylar started Kindergarten.  So the amount of kids she knows in the neighborhood now has expanded 10 fold.  She was thrilled to be partying with Lucy, Parker and Liam who are all from her classroom!

To top the event off we had snow falling from the sky which really completed the event.

It was a job well done by us social committee ladies.  Excited to see what we can bring to the community in 2016.
