Well we have another dance recital in the books for this two dancers. After 4 long years of begging Skylar to add hip hop into her realm of dance she FINALLY caved in. I don't know if it was because she sick of me asking her or after seeing Madden do it last year made her more intrigued. It really doesn't matter to me, I was just so happy she agreed to it. What was even more exciting about it was that she and Madden got to be in the same class. I can't tell you how excited I was about seeing them both preform together. Madden was such a stud. He showed so much improvement from last year. His new class was definitely a jump from last year and he handled it like a pro. Never once complaining about going to class or being the only boy in the whole group. Skylar didn't have a single problem picking up the hip hop moves. She took to them all right away and really enjoyed it.
Skylar got a new jazz teacher this year, which I know in the beginning was a big change for the girls, but Skylar took it with such great stride and enjoyed the whole year learning from Miss. Natalia.
Madden loves performing. I can tell by the huge smile he has while on stage. Right after his last performance he was already asking me if he was going to get to have Mr. Efren next year for hip hop.
Skylar always says tap is her favorite of them all. This year she really step up and looked fantastic out there. Everyone thought it was the best they had ever seen her tap.
These two are such work horses. Every week they practice before actual practice and it shows. They were both front and center for the majority of their routine and they deserve that spot. I know Jake loves this special time with Skylar.

Backstage goofiness
Skylar and Madden have the best group cheering them on each and every year. It was so special having Aunt Sherry back down this year. I'm hoping she can make it it every year from here on out. We were minus one this year but I know he was cheering them on from a distance.

Each and every year at dance recital is always so special, but this year was extra special with Skylar receiving her 5 year award from the studio. We couldn't be more proud of the dedication she shows for dance. Guess who is up for his 5 year award next year.......Jake!

There are so many great moments captured in these dance pictures. How did you get all these dancers to get in the shower, Nicole? I liked the "action" picture of the tap number. I can hear the music! Great pictures of Skylar and Madden in their "hip hop" jackets. A great year for both. And Skylar received her "5 year" award. Wow! I can't wait until next year! Great job to Jake, Skylar and Madden!

Just me, Grand-ma, again. I just watched the video and relived the whole recital. Skylar and Madden, you both did a FANTASTIC job this year! What amazing rhythm and timing and spirit--right with the music. I am so glad to have been to this year's recital. And Jake, you are a super dancer. If only you had 30 hours in your day, you could join the "hip hop" class. Ha, ha!
